During the warmer months, the artists took to the botanical gardens to find natural patterns in the plants, trees, gardens and water. Exploring some of the older streets and architecture around Ballarat, the artists have found different ways of looking at patterns through changing perspectives and close-up shots.
BIOGRAPHY
Arthur Creative is the creative division of Melba Support Services. This body of work is the result of 15 individual creatives who pick up their phones, cameras and tablets and love to take photos, exploring and finding all kinds of subject matters that become part of their photographic experience. There are two photography workshops each week at Arthur with the artists at varying stages: some well-established and others at the beginning of their creative pathways. Some of the artists are focused solely on photography while others also enjoy multimedia, including visual art and filmmaking. Arthur aims to encourage and facilitate high quality arts and cultural activity within Ballarat, while promoting wider acceptance and participation in a professional arts context by people with disability.
