MY TRIP TO THE MOON: SUN PRINT ADVENTURE
Early Learner and Primary

Sun prints are a simple way for younger students to experience the importance of light in photography and how light-sensitive materials are used. Participants watch as sunlight imprints their image onto the paper, and then see it transform again when fixed in water. Students will complete two small images to take home.

NASA IMAGES: CYANOTYPES
Secondary and Tertiary

Using incredible space photographs chosen from NASA’s photofiles, students will learn about the history and technology of space photography and create a cyanotype print using an historical image of their choice.

In the digital age, using light sensitive materials can be a great way to educate students about analogue photography.

SELF-GUIDED VISIT
All ages

Drawing on the 50^thanniversary of the Apollo moon landing, this exhibition in the Ballarat Municipal Observatory presents ways for students to embrace science and the arts in a perfect STEAM fusion. Early years, primary, secondary and tertiary students will all find something educational and engaging in this historically inspired exhibition.
