Night photography offers interesting opportunities and different styles of light that allow a photographer to capture a unique and striking scene. Melbourne-based photographers Madeline Bowser and Ben Metherall present a selection of nighttime photographs from Australia and the world, showing nightlife, the quiet areas and, most of all, light.

BIOGRAPHY
Madeline Bowser is a travel photographer who specialises in city and landscapes, both colour and in black and white. Formally trained in fine art photography, her photographs represent her personal experiences and aim to freeze time, depicting often overlooked perspectives.

Ben Metherall grew up taking photos, but fell out of touch with photography in the digital age. When he started using a vintage medium format camera, he rediscovered the joy of taking time to photograph. He now shoots entirely on film with a variety of cameras from all over the world.
